The VoIP call is not very different from a regular phone call. The only difference is that rather than using a telephone instrument and cables, here the internet is used to transmit the call. If you put it in technical terms then you can say that the internet protocol based networks are employed to transmit the voice traffic. This happens to be cheaper than the telephone as the regular telephone uses the analog signals to transmit the call which is more expensive. The advantages of VoIP are as follows:

  1. It is cheaper than the regular telephone calls. Without any compromise in the quality of the sound transmission and any other services, the VoIP provider gives you all the facilities at lesser prices. This means the saving of finance that can be then used for some other purpose.
  2. The rates for these providers are fixed for almost all the services. This means that you do not have to worry about the usage of minutes and the minutes left in the package. As it uses the internet, the no. of minutes available to you are unlimited and therefore without worrying about the costs you can talk as much as you want.
  3. With this service it is even possible to retain the handset as well without disconnecting the service. The telephones that VoIP uses are almost identical to the regular telephones. These phones also provide you a headset with which you can go for a hands free conversation and eliminate the tiring procedure of holding the phone to your ears for a long duration call.
  4. It is possible to make a VoIP conference call as long as you have a broadband internet connection. You just have to ensure that the connection that you are using is capable enough to support a phone call.
